1. Contest dates
1.1 The “Win $400 for your aviation needs!” contest (hereafter the “Contest”) is held by Sierra Aviation Insurance Broker (hereafter the “Contest Organizer”). Contest entries can be submitted from May 8, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. (EST) to May 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (EST) (hereafter the “Contest period”).
1.2 The prize draw will take place on Wednesday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m. (EST) in the offices of the Contest Organizer, located at 1280, rue du Blizzard, Office 300, Québec City (Quebec) G2K 0J1, in front of a Contest Organizer employee as witness.
2. Eligibility
2.1 This Contest is only open to legal residents of the following provinces who have reached the age of the majority in their province of residence at the time of entry : Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.
2.2 Excluded: employees, directors, agents, and representatives of the Contest Organizer, or any other entity that is part of Sierra Assurance inc., Ellipse Insurance or Ellipse Financial Services, as well as persons with whom they reside.
3. Terms of participation
3.1 To be eligible to enter the Contest, each participant must meet these two requirements:
- submit a quote request for a hangar insurance or a private aircraft insurance, by filling out one of the two submission forms (hereafter the “Form”) available online at https://www.sierraassurance.ca/avionE or/and https://www.sierraassurance.ca/hangarE by providing all the information necessary to submit their online request; and
- receive a quote from Sierra Assurance inc. after having completed the online quote request mentioned hereabove.
3.2 No purchase required.
3.3 Participation limit: One single entry per quote category is eligible per person during the Contest period (example: one hangar quote and one helicopter quote = 2 eligible entries).
4. Prizes
4.1 The winner of the random draw will receive a prize of a value of $400 (four hundred dollars), in the form of a gift card applicable by Aircraft Spruce Canada.
4.2. There is 1 prize available to be won.
5. Prize awarding procedure
5.1 The winner will be selected in a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period, at the date and time listed hereabove.
5.2 The chances to win the Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
6. Winner selection
6.1 To be named winner, the randomly selected participant must:
Be reached by telephone or email by Ellipse Assurances within three (3) business days following the draw. If they cannot be reached within this time, they will be disqualified and another draw will be conducted;
Confirm that they are an eligible person and meet the requirements set out in these rules; and
Answer two simple math questions.
6.2 The prize will be sent to the winner according to the terms communicated to them by the Contest Organizer. Consequently, the winner agrees to provide the Contest Organizer with exact contact information within three (3) days of the notice of their selection as winner. After this time, the winner can no longer claim the prize.
6.3 In the case where a selected participant does not comply with one of the above conditions, or any other condition set out in these rules, they will be disqualified and the Contest Organizer may, at its discretion, cancel the prize or conduct a new draw for this prize, until a new participant is selected and named Prize winner.
7. General conditions
7.1 Verification. Entries are subject to verification by the Contest Organizer. Any entry or entry attempt that is fraudulent, illegible, incomplete, received late, or non-compliant with these rules will be rejected and will not entitle the participant to enrollment or a prize, as the case may be.
7.2 Non-compliant participation. The Contest Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any person or cancel one or more entries of any person participating in this contest or attempting to participate in a manner that violates these rules or is unfair to other participants (entries exceeding the allowable limit, computer hacking, etc.). This person could be reported to the relevant legal authorities. The Contest Organizer’s decision in this matter is final and conclusive.
7.3 Prize acceptance. The Prize must be accepted as it is described in these rules and may not be transferred to another person, substituted with another prize, nor exchanged, in part or in whole, for cash, subject to the terms of these rules.
7.4 Prize substitution. In the event that, for reasons unrelated to the winner, the Contest Organizer cannot award the Prizes (or a portion of the prize) as described in these rules, it reserves the right to award a prize (or a portion of the prize) of the same nature and equivalent value or, at its sole discretion, the prize value (or the portion of the prize) indicated in these rules, in cash.
7.5 Refusal to accept the Prize. A selected person’s refusal to accept the Prize (or a portion of the Prize) according to the terms of these rules releases the Contest Organizer from any obligation related to this prize (or this portion of the Prize) toward this person. In such a case, the Contest Organizer may, at its discretion, cancel the Prize (or the portion of the Prize) or conduct a new draw until a participant is selected and named winner.
7.6 Limitation of liability– use of the prize. The prize winner releases the Contest Organizer, its members, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, employees, agents, and representatives from any liability related to any damage, prejudice, or loss they might incur as a result of the acceptance or use of the Prize. The winner acknowledges that, as of the date of the awarding of the Prize or the time they are notified of the terms of the awarding of the Prize, the execution of obligations related to the Prize become the entire and exclusive responsibility of the various product and service suppliers. The winner agrees to sign a “Declaration Form” to this effect.
7.7 Supplier liability. Any person selected for the Prize understands that upon possession of the Prize, the performance of services related to this Prize become the entire and exclusive responsibility of the prize or service supplier.
7.8 Limitation of liability – participation. By participating or attempting to participate in this contest, each participant releases the Contest Organizer, its members, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, employees, agents, and representatives from any liability for any damage they may incur as a result of their participation or attempt to participate in the contest, including any damage to the participant’s computer or mobile device.
7.9 Impossibility to act – workplace conflict. The Contest Organizer, its members, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, employees, agents, and representatives shall not assume any responsibility of any nature in the event that their incapacity to act results from a circumstance or situation outside their control or a strike, lockout, or any other workplace conflict in their establishment or in the establishment of organizations or businesses whose services are used to hold the Conest.
7.10 Modification. The Contest Organizer reserves the right, at its complete discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, in the event of an incident, error, or human intervention that could compromise or affect the administration, safety, impartiality, or conduct of the contest as set forth in these rules, subject to the approval of the Competition bureau of Canada, if required. In the event that participation in the contest were to end in whole or in part before the final date of the contest, the draw may be conducted, at the discretion of the Contest Organizer, among eligible entries received until the date of the event that resulted in the termination of participation in the contest.
7.11 Prize limit. In no event shall the Contest Organizer, its members, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers of products or services related to this contest as well as its employees, agents, and representatives be required to award more prizes or in any manner other than as set out in these rules.
7.12 Authorization. By participating in this contest, the winner authorizes the Contest Organizer, its partners, and its representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, declaration relative to the prize, place of residence, and voice without any form of compensation, at their discretion and without limitations as to the period of use in all media used by the Contest Organizer globally, for marketing or any other purpose deemed pertinent.
7.13 Personal information. Personal information collected during the contest period will be used in the administration of the contest and to process the quote request. Information collected may be stored and used for current or future solicitation purposes. By participating in the contest, each participant authorizes Ellipse Assurances Inc. to contact them with the intention of responding to its quote request, awarding its prize if they are the draw winner, or for telephone or electronic solicitation.
7.14 Documentation and conservation. All documents related to the contest (forms, rules, entry forms, etc.) must be kept for at least 120 days following the end of the contest.
7.15 Decisions of the Contest Organizer. Any decision made by the Contest Organizer or its representatives concerning this contest is final and conclusive, subject to any decision made by the Competition bureau of Canada relative to any issue within its jurisdiction.
7.16 Dispute. Dispute are handled through: 1. contest rules / 2. Consumer / competition complaints (Competition bureau of Canada) / 3. civil courts (or small claims where available).
7.17 Identification of the participant. As per these rules, the participant is the person who has completed the Form, and the prizes will be awarded to this person if selected and named winner.
